Based in Geelong, Miriam is a civil celebrant serving couples and families across the Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast, and wider Victoria. She has been registered on the Commonwealth Attorney-General’s Marriage Celebrant Register since 2023, and brings to every ceremony the same combination of quiet competence and genuine warmth that her clients talk about long after the day is done.
How Miriam Works
Miriam’s approach starts with listening. Before a single word is written, she wants to know who you are — your story, your relationship, the people in the room, and what you hope everyone walks away feeling. That’s the foundation every ceremony is built on.
From there, she takes care of everything. The legal paperwork, the structure, the timing, the rehearsal — it’s all handled with the kind of calm, organised care that means you arrive on the day without a knot in your stomach. A Celebrant with a Difference
Before becoming a civil celebrant, Miriam worked for many years as a Registered Midwife — a background that shapes everything about how she shows up for the families she works with.
That experience is particularly meaningful when it comes to baby and infant funeral ceremonies. Miriam is one of very few celebrants in the Geelong region who brings both the professional training and the lived understanding to support families through the loss of a baby or young child. She approaches these ceremonies with extraordinary care, creating a space where grief is held gently and every small life is honoured with the dignity it deserves.
